On a very muddy track, Calvin Borel won the Kentucky Derby on May 1, 2010, aboard Super Saver to win at Churchill Downs for the third time in the past four years. Winning from barrier 4, the last horse to do so was the Tripple Crown winning Seattle Slew in 1977. Borel told the trainer of Super Saver Pletcher (his first Kentucky Derby win) after the Derby that he'd ride the bay colt to a Triple Crown victory. First up, the May 15 Preakness, which Borel and Super Saver will enter as favorites.
