John Maxwell and Ross Lindeman, from Priefert Australia, will be two of the guest speakers at a special clinic for professional horseman being run by the University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA.
The clinic will offer interaction with top horsemen and a demonstration of their techniques for handling weanlings and yearlings under stressful conditions, saddling and starting unbroken yearlings, and introducing horses to trailers and to the starting gate with safety for both humans and the horse always in mind.
The duo will be presenting alongside the likes of Craig Cameron, who has handled thousands of horses and conducts up to 40 clinics a year; and Bob Duncan - who for 25 years has been the starter at NYRA race tracks and is nationally recognised because of his efforts to understand and help young horses at the gate.
Joining them is Dr. Les Bruer who has sat on the faculty of Texas A&M for 10 years and headed the equine research program at Purina for 30 years.
John and Ross have spent many northern summers working with the employees and sale yearlings at Three Chimneys, Lane's End and Hermitage farms.
They both consider it a great honour to be filling a role such as this and look forward to passing on their knowledge.
The clinic runs over October 12-13 at WinStar Farm, Kentucky.
Scone Inglis Broodmare Sale sold 126 mares for a total gross figure of $837,850.
