Sun, 21 Feb 2010

This year's Landmark Classic Campdraft Sale grew 21% over last year, grossing $3,528,000. The two selling days featured a 10% increase in the number of horses offered for sale, averaging $9,939 per head from 355 horses sold.

The top sale price for a gelding was $36,000, while the top mare sold for $54,000 and the top stallion sold for $42,000.

Horses purchased at the 2008 or 2009 Classic Sale are eligible to enter the Campdraft and must be five years old or under at the date of the    competition. This year, Brendan Fitzgerald took home $30,000 and the Landmark Classic Brady trophy saddle, after winning the Classic on  Brenwan Snipette.

The Priefert Open is open to those who bought or sold a horse last year. Now becoming one of the more sort after drafts in the season the winner takes home $10,000 (draft pays down to 10th) and the one of a kind trophy buckle this year  won by Dean Hann on Condamine Rembrant.
